So far this summer, I have been dodging the fog to paint our glorious Coast.
Garrapata, Carmel Highlands, and Davenport Landing have been some of my plein air subjects. I also painted some new oak meadow spring pieces with wildflowers and one of an old sycamore tree with a quail family. The quail with their young have been running around my studio all summer.

My studio work has focused on several formats of the Pescadero Coast. In the tradition of painting plein air to study a subject, I created multiple paintings of one scene from an overlook along highway one. I’ll bring some of these paintings to the Kings Mountain Art Fair. I’ll be there all 3 days of Labor Day Weekend, Saturday thru Monday, and to the Capitola Art and Wine Festival September 8 and 9.
Visit me during the Arts Council Open Studio Tour , the weekends of October 6-7 and 20-21. Sign up for the winter class series or choose a new painting for your home or office. I enjoy just having visitors come to my studio in Soquel. I talk about art and share my process of developing a painting.
