What a great Open Studio Year! Many artists around the county reported good visitor rates and business success from the 2 weekends of exhibiting in their studios. This was one of my best open studios shows, in 20 years of participation.
After two years of shut down, I so enjoyed talking with many of you and sharing my painting process. Thanks so much for coming out and visiting with our artists in Santa Cruz County. Your appreciation and support keeps us motivated and productive. Finding new homes for so many of my paintings was very gratifying.
Every year, I hold a drawing for a framed painting and 2 other prizes. This year the first prize painting was Autumn Waters. This year at least three quarters of my visitors completed the contest entry cards. My husband and I “drew” three winners. (Actually, we stacked and shuffled the cards. Then Richard had his computer randomly select three numbers and we counted down to each number to find the winners.) Surprisingly, all three winners are local to the area near my art studio.

This year’s winners are:
- First Place- “Autumn Waters”, framed original oil painting, went to Peter of Santa Cruz.
- Second Place – a choice of one 11×14 fine art print was Sarah of Santa Cruz. Sarah choose the Wave Action giclee print
- Third Place – a choice of 5 note cards went to Erica of Ben Lomond
