Coastal Passions

Sun on Big Sur, oil on canvas, 12x16
Sun on Big Sur, oil on canvas, 12x16 plus frame size.  There are many places to stop and gaze at the headlands along California's Highway 1 near Big Sur. This location offers the depth as the coast recedes in the distance. The water in the near ocean, on a sunny day, is always emerald and turquoise. There is plenty of space to set up my easel if I can be patient with all the visitors.
September 2 through October 27

Visit the Pacific Grove Art Center on Lighthouse Avenue to see fine works of art from members of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association (MBPAPA.) The exhibit will open on September 2 and run through October 27. The exhibit will be in the large Gill Gallery at the Art Center. Stop in to see paintings made at the favorite locations of the area’s finest plein air painters.

From the cliffs of Big Sur to the inlet coves of Santa Cruz, you will find a favorite coastal location of your own in the images captured here. Pictured here are two of my paintings which will be in this exhibition.

Open Wed - Sat, 12 - 5 PM and Sun, 12 - 4 PM.
