Three day art fair in the redwoods!

Started in 1963, the Kings Mountain Art Fair is an annual event, held every Labor Day weekend. The Art Fair benefits the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Kings Mountain Elementary School and other community activities and is staffed completely by volunteers from the local community.

Since 2006, I've been exhibiting my art annually in this wonderful redwood park setting as part of the Kings Mountain Art Fair. We've spent many Labor Day Weekends in these inspiring redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Woodside, CA. The fair is an all volunteer run event for the benefit of several local charities, including the local fire department and their elementary school. The fair has gained national status as a premier art event, showcasing many talented artists and artisans from around the country. I've been very fortunate in each year being selected to participate.

In 2020 and 2021 the fair happened as a "virtual event", with a website hosting artists in their home studios, and visitors from around the world able to connect in on line to view art, chat with artists, and purchase special finds. By 2022, the fair came back live in the redwoods, and WOW what a response - 2022 and 2023 were two of the most active and fun shows for me. We hope for another great experience in the redwood park again this year, for both visitors and exhibitors. It is a wonderful experience for me to greet new and past visitors, while showing and telling about my art.

It is always a treat to spend the weekend in the redwoods, talking about art and sending my oil paintings and prints to new homes. I will be in my usual place down in the fine art glen. On your way into this free event, pick up a map of the exhibitor locations along the winding paths through the redwoods. I have new large and small paintings that speak to the beauty of our Pacific coastline and the fertile fields and pastoral meadows beyond. This year I'll also have paintings from my travels, especially my trips to Big Sur and Pinnacles National Park in California, and a couple weeks in the high country of Colorado.

"Known for its stunning location among the redwoods and for its unique and varied artists (selected by jury), the Kings Mountain Art Fair celebrates over 50 years of art and natural world ambiance. Fair admission and parking are free." --- quoted from the Kings Mountain Art Fair website.
