$0.00Autumn Escape 9×12
Unframed size: 9″ x 12″; framed size 15″ x 18″
“Autumn brought out the gold color of the vines. The vines and some hillside bushes were backlit. The distant hills were shrouded by the morning mist. I enjoyed the quiet, painting alone during the pandemic.
This painting was accepted by the juror for the Monterey Plein Air Painters’ 2021 Signature Exhibition, in the Pacific Grove Art Center. I’ve painted with these artists many times over the years and am myself a Signature Member.” – mh

Flowers at Green Oak Farm 12×16 – SOLD
Oil on canvas, 12″ x 16″ painting, with frame 18″ x 22″.
“I visited this farm for the first time when taking a gardening class. The flowers growing in beds below the farm were quite remarkable and I asked the owner if I could come back to paint. I returned to paint on location near the end of the flower season. This was the result of that effort.” – mh

Hillside Vineyard 9×12
Unframed size: 9″ x 12″; framed size 15″ x 18″
“This painting represents a small study with the compositional design of radiating lines. The olive trees with their blue green leaves contained the vineyard. The farm house creates a distant focal point as the radiating vines lead you into the painting. I enjoyed the day with painting friends, as I worked on this piece in a vineyard in Correlitos, CA. Autumn color abounded on the pinot vines and their oranges complement the blue sky. Back in the studio, I used this painting as a guide to create a larger painting.” – mh
