Hacienda Lupine 12×16

$1,100.00

Oil on canvas, 12″ x 16″ painting, with frame 18″ x 22″.

“On the grounds of Fort Hunter Liggett in central California, lies the fascinating structure known as The Hacienda. Below The Hacienda and in front of the recently restored Mission San Antonio, lies a meadow carpeted in the spring with blue Lupine and orange California Poppies. Hacienda Lupine is my interpretation of this peaceful place, freshened by a recent spring mist.” – mh

Description

“Hidden in the Santa Lucia Mountains, a bit coastwise from Jolon, resides one of the lesser known California Missions – Mission San Antonio de Padua. On a bluff nearby was built The Hacienda, designed by Julia Morgan for Randolph Hearst as a hunting lodge. The Hacienda was donated as a gift to the government and is now on the grounds of Fort Hunter Liggett. I’ve twice made painting trips there, staying at the Hacienda, which requires advanced planning and proper documentation to enter the Fort.” – mh

This 12″ x 16″ original oil painting is on a canvas mounted board from SourceTek. It was painted by Michele Hausman plein air – on location. Final touches were achieved in studio.

The painting, with frame, is 18″ high x 22″ wide. The painting support is a 12″ x 16″ SourceTek canvas on wood panel. The displayed framing includes a gold 3″ wood frame or a black 3.5″ wood frame with a gold filet. If you choose to purchase it with either frame, the framed painting will be shipped mounted in the frame and fully wired, ready to unpack and hang immediately.
