“I began this painting during the Carmel Art Festival in 2009. It has been in my collection since. At Whaler’s Cove, I hiked up the stairs with my gear, and found a location where I could see the Carmelite Monastery in the distance. The shrubs have now grown taller, and it is more difficult to see the Monastery. The tide was out and I liked how the opposite rocky shore led the eye to the monastery.” – mh
