“When I studied painting in the Tuscan hills above Pisa, Rich and I stayed at this villa, part of The Watermill estate. The river actually ran under our apartment located just off this patio. I am drawn to paint umbrellas. Triangles represent the stability of the union of mind, body and spirit. The shape of umbrellas also allows you to know the direction of the sun as their color changes with each facet of the umbrella. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the watermill in Posara.“ – mh
