“Point Sur was painted in my studio after a trip south along CA Highway One. This location is often very windy, so photos helped guide my painting. From this view you can not see the lighthouse which is perched on the 361-foot rock cliff out in the Pacific Ocean. I enjoyed how the fog gently touched the coastline and the beach curved up to the light station promontory. Point Sur Lighthouse, 40 feet tall, is a light station at Point Sur 19 miles south of Carmel, California. It was established in 1889 and is part of Point Sur State Historic Park. This one of a kind 12″ x 24″ original oil painting was created by Michele Hausman over an extended time period. Painting support is a stretched canvas.
