Original Oil Paintings

Rocks Ranch 11×14

Unframed size: 11″ x 14″

“This oil painting was created at the private Santa Cruz Land Trust property at Rocks Ranch. The property is named for the large boulders that appear on the hillsides and meadows of the ranch. The ranch was purchased to allow for the creation of a land bridge for wildlife across highway 101, linking the Santa Cruz Mountains habitat to the Gavilan range south of Gilroy. I was attracted to this vista of oak studded meadow, for the contrast of light and dark color and the variety of shapes in the vegetation.” – mh

Description

This 11″ x 14″ original oil painting was painted by Michele Hausman, during a day trip to the private Rocks Ranch, which was purchased last year by a local land trust.

Painting support is an archival linen panel. Gamblin wax medium has been applied in studio as a barrier coat. The painting was made entirely plein air.
