“This painting was created after many visits to the coast during that special hour when the sun is setting. I made notes and a few small paintings to help my memory preserve the change of value as the light fades. I was particularly interested in noting how the colors of the sky are reflected in the ocean and surrounding elements. I noted how the land loses definition in the distance when our eyes can still make out detail in the close by rocks and water.” – mh
